Goldstone is a manmade stone. There are three stories about its origin.
The first is that in the 1800s at a monastery in Italy, an Italian monk accidentally spilled copper filings into molten glass creating Goldstone.
The second is that molten copper was accidentally spilled into a vat of molten glass at a glass factory in Murano, Italy a very long time ago.
The third story is that Goldstone is the wonderful creation of an experiment gone wrong by an alchemist trying to turn iron into gold.
